Meet Aileen

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

A little bit about me: I teach K-5 general music and choir in the Olentangy Local School District near Columbus, Ohio, but I've taught K-7 general music, band, choir, and strings over the course of my career. This is my eighteenth year teaching; previously, I taught in Lancaster City Schools as well as Utica Community Schools in Utica, Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University in 1999, and my Master of Music in Music Education from Capital University in 2003; I was able to complete my masters studies at the Kodaly Institute in Kecskemet, Hungary. I am Past President of the Midwest Kodaly Music Educators of America, have taught Level I and III for DePaul University's Kodaly Program, and Level I Methodology and Folk Song Research for Colorado State University's Kodaly Program.

My family includes my husband Scott (who is a business analyst and a singer/songwriter), my twelve-year-old daughter Jenna (who plays flute and piano), and my four-year-old Macy (who we believe will be a percussionist, a vocalist, or a guitarist someday...or all of the above!) Here is a picture of all four of us from a few years ago...I will update this with a more recent picture soon!

I opened my TeachersPayTeachers store in the summer of 2012, and it has been a passion of mine since. I love sharing what has worked in my music room, and hearing from others that it has worked for them as well! I create lessons, activities, units, and classroom decor that have enriched my classroom and my students' education.

Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram, as they are the best places to find out about new products, sales, and updates! If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email at aileen.miracle@yahoo.com. Happy reading, and happy teaching!
